Our Verdict
Categories Uncomplicated is better suited for merchants with extensive product lines who need a robust system for organizing and presenting their products. The app's features like hierarchical categories, breadcrumbs, and SEO optimization tools cater to larger stores looking to improve discoverability and search engine rankings. Oh! Scroll To Top, on the other hand, targets a broader audience seeking a quick and easy way to enhance page navigation, especially on mobile devices. While the lack of reviews is a concern, its focus on a simple, customizable 'scroll-to-top' button makes it a viable option for stores with long pages where users might benefit from rapid return to the top.
Common Questions
Does Categories Uncomplicated offer features similar to the scroll-to-top functionality of Oh! Scroll To Top?
No, Categories Uncomplicated focuses on category management and SEO, and does not include a scroll-to-top feature. Their purposes are distinctly different.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, Oh! Scroll To Top claims a 'simple setup process,' suggesting it may be easier to implement initially. Categories Uncomplicated has drag-and-drop for 2.0 themes, however, requires code integration for older 1.0 themes, potentially increasing complexity.
Which app offers more customization options?
Oh! Scroll To Top offers more granular customization over its core feature - the scroll-to-top button - with options to upload custom buttons, choose icons, and adjust the button's appearance and position. Categories Uncomplicated provides customization through Shopify Translate & Adapt and by leveraging the standard navigation system.
Can Categories Uncomplicated improve my store's SEO?
Yes, Categories Uncomplicated explicitly mentions improving SEO metadata with dynamic JSON-LD, which can help your store rank higher in search engine results. Oh! Scroll To Top does not offer any specific SEO-related features.
If I only have a few products, which app is more beneficial?
If you only have a few products, Categories Uncomplicated's category management might be overkill. Oh! Scroll To Top, while lacking reviews, could still provide a small improvement to user experience, particularly if your product pages are long. However, the benefit would be minimal and might not justify the app installation.
