Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with optimizing their payment options based on specific rules and conditions, CCL Hide Payment Methods is the clear choice. Its ability to hide, sort, rename, and reorder payment methods provides granular control over the checkout experience. This is especially valuable for merchants dealing with varying shipping costs, product types, or customer locations that necessitate different payment gateway displays.
However, if the primary goal is to boost sales and AOV by incentivizing customers to spend more, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is the superior option. Its free shipping progress bar and upsell features are specifically designed to encourage customers to add more items to their cart. While both apps operate in the checkout/cart space, their core functionalities serve very different business needs, making the selection dependent on the merchant's specific objectives.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the feature sets, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is likely easier to set up and use. It primarily involves customizing visual elements like the progress bar, while CCL Hide Payment Methods requires configuring rules and conditions, which may be more complex.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, theoretically both apps can be used together. CCL Hide Payment Methods can optimize the payment options presented after a customer has met the free shipping threshold set by Essential Free Shipping Upsell. However, merchants should test thoroughly to ensure compatibility and avoid any conflicts.
Which app is more suitable for a small business?
It depends on the small business's priorities. If the focus is on immediate revenue growth, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is likely more beneficial. If streamlining the checkout process and reducing payment-related issues is more important, CCL Hide Payment Methods might be a better fit.
