Census: Customer Surveys vs Zigpoll Customer Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
Both Census: Customer Surveys and Zigpoll Customer Surveys are Shopify apps designed to help merchants gather customer feedback through surveys. However, they differ significantly in their market validation and scope of features. Zigpoll, with significantly more reviews (417 vs. 23 for Census) despite both apps having a 5/5 rating, appears to be a more established and widely adopted solution. Zigpoll's headline and description highlight a broader range of survey types (post-purchase, pre-purchase, NPS, on-site, email, SMS) and advanced features like AI analytics, multilingual support, and integrations. Census, while having a perfect rating, lacks detailed feature descriptions. Zigpoll's positioning is clearly geared towards merchants seeking a comprehensive survey solution with advanced analytics to optimize various aspects of their business, from marketing spend to conversion rates. They emphasize ease of use with no-code setup. Zigpoll targets merchants seeking in-depth customer insights and a fully customizable survey experience, while Census's smaller presence makes it difficult to discern a specific target audience. The feature list for Zigpoll points to a more sophisticated user that appreciates integrations with the existing marketing stack and order information.

Our Verdict
For merchants looking for a well-established survey app with a comprehensive feature set, including AI analytics, multilingual support, and integrations, Zigpoll Customer Surveys is the clear choice. Its higher number of reviews suggests greater user satisfaction and reliability.
On the other hand, while Census: Customer Surveys also has a perfect rating, the limited information available and significantly fewer reviews make it difficult to recommend without more data. It might be suitable for merchants seeking a very basic survey solution and willing to take a chance on a newer or less widely adopted app, but Zigpoll provides more peace of mind.
