Chad: AI Chat Agent + Helpdesk vs Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttonsfor Shopify (2026)
Chad: AI Chat Agent + Helpdesk and Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons are both Shopify apps in the 'Chat' category, but they address fundamentally different aspects of customer communication. Chad focuses on automating customer support and resolving common issues through an AI-powered chatbot and helpdesk integration. It aims to reduce support ticket volume by providing instant self-service solutions. Chaty, conversely, is designed to broaden customer communication channels by providing a centralized chat widget that links to various messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram. Chad’s key strength lies in its AI-driven self-service capabilities, designed to handle routine inquiries automatically, thereby freeing up human agents for more complex issues. Chaty excels in accessibility and convenience by consolidating multiple chat options into a single, customizable widget and enabling merchants to connect with customers on a wider range of channels. Thus, Chad aims to improve customer support efficiency, while Chaty strives to increase customer engagement and conversion through omnichannel communication. The target audience differs, with Chad catering to merchants struggling with high ticket volumes, and Chaty appealing to those prioritizing accessibility and multi-channel engagement.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants struggling with a high volume of repetitive customer support inquiries and seeking to automate their customer service, Chad: AI Chat Agent + Helpdesk is likely the better choice. Its AI-driven self-service platform can significantly reduce the burden on support staff. However, given the extremely low review count, caution is advised.
On the other hand, if a merchant prioritizes making it as easy as possible for customers to connect via their preferred communication channels and is focused on increasing sales conversions and engagement through multi-channel chat, Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons is a strong contender. Its wide range of supported platforms and customization options provide a flexible and accessible customer communication solution. The substantial review count offers more confidence in the app's reliability.
