Chargeback: Auto Prevention vs Ongoing Disable Right Clickfor Shopify (2026)
Chargeback: Auto Prevention and Ongoing Disable Right Click, while both listed under the 'Fraud' category on Shopify, address entirely different aspects of fraud prevention. Chargeback: Auto Prevention focuses on mitigating the impact of chargebacks *after* a dispute is initiated, offering an automated refund system to avoid fees, money holds, and potential account shutdown. Its target audience is likely larger Shopify stores processing a significant volume of transactions and potentially experiencing a high chargeback rate. Ongoing Disable Right Click, on the other hand, aims to prevent a very specific type of content theft *before* it occurs by disabling the right-click context menu on the store's website. This is designed to deter users from easily copying images or text. Its target audience are stores where unique images are central to their appeal and brand image.

Our Verdict
These apps are not direct competitors and cater to distinct needs. Chargeback: Auto Prevention is the clear choice for merchants struggling with chargebacks and needing a reactive, automated solution to mitigate their impact. Its focus on preventing financial repercussions makes it valuable for businesses with higher transaction volumes. Ongoing Disable Right Click, on the other hand, is niche app for merchants deeply concerned about content theft and unauthorized copying of images or text. While it boasts a perfect rating, the low number of reviews suggests a smaller user base and potentially a more limited scope of application.
Common Questions
Which app is better for preventing fraud?
It depends on the *type* of fraud you're concerned about. Chargeback: Auto Prevention helps you avoid negative consequences from fraudulent transactions that *result* in chargebacks. Ongoing Disable Right Click is more about preventing content theft, which is a form of intellectual property fraud.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, the apps address different types of issues and can theoretically be used together. However, Chargeback: Auto Prevention *cannot* be used with other chargeback management apps.
Is Chargeback: Auto Prevention suitable for a new store with few sales?
Probably not necessary. Chargeback: Auto Prevention is most useful for stores experiencing a notable volume of chargebacks. If you have very few sales, chargebacks are likely not a pressing issue.
How easy is it to install and use Ongoing Disable Right Click?
The description doesn't explicitly state its ease of use. However, the function is simple (disabling right-click) suggesting it is very easy to set up and use
Does the rating of 5/5 for Ongoing Disable Right Click make it a better app?
Not necessarily. While the 5/5 rating is positive, the low number of reviews (4) means the rating is based on a small sample size. Chargeback: Auto Prevention has a slightly lower rating but with more reviews (9), which might give a more accurate indication of user satisfaction.
