Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons vs Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQfor Shopify (2026)
Chaty: WhatsApp & Chat buttons and Gorgias: Helpdesk, Chat & FAQ are both Shopify apps that provide chat functionality, but they target different merchant needs. Chaty focuses on providing a simple, accessible way for customers to contact businesses through various popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Telegram. Its strength lies in its ease of use and the wide array of supported chat platforms, making it appealing to merchants primarily focused on lead generation and quick customer support through preferred messaging channels. The app prioritizes accessibility with features like a contact form, phone button, and click-to-call widget. Gorgias, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive helpdesk solution encompassing chat, FAQ, and other support features. While it also offers chat functionality, its broader scope caters to businesses requiring a robust system for managing customer interactions, organizing support tickets, and building a knowledge base. The lower rating (4.1/5) compared to Chaty (5/5) might indicate a steeper learning curve or complexity due to its broader feature set. Our Verdict
For smaller Shopify stores or businesses heavily reliant on instant messaging for customer communication and lead generation, Chaty is likely the better choice. Its ease of use, wide range of supported chat platforms, and focus on accessibility features make it a powerful tool for quick and direct customer interaction. The higher rating and emphasis on chat buttons indicate a strong focus on user experience within its niche.
However, for larger Shopify stores or those with complex customer support needs, Gorgias provides a more comprehensive solution. Its helpdesk features, ticket management system, and FAQ capabilities offer a robust framework for managing customer inquiries and providing excellent support. While it may have a slightly lower rating, the higher number of reviews suggests a larger user base and a more established presence in the helpdesk space. Businesses needing a full-fledged customer service platform that integrates chat with other support functionalities will find Gorgias more suitable.
