Claimbase: Instagram Sales vs Pinpointedfor Shopify (2026)
Claimbase: Instagram Sales and Pinpointed both operate within the 'Advertising - Other' category on the Shopify App Store, but their functionalities and target audiences are drastically different. Claimbase: Instagram Sales focuses on facilitating sales specifically through Instagram, suggesting it caters to merchants heavily reliant on social commerce through that platform. Its high rating with a relatively larger number of reviews (15) indicates a potentially well-received solution within its niche. In contrast, Pinpointed addresses a very specific issue: the distortion of Google Ads ROI caused by refunded orders. Its features are geared towards optimizing Google Ads campaigns by accurately reflecting true conversion rates. This application targets merchants with significant Google Ads investments who are struggling with inaccurate ROI reporting due to return policies and wish to refine their advertising strategy based on actual sales. The significantly lower review count of Pinpointed (1) makes it more difficult to gauge overall sentiment, but its detailed description implies a sophisticated, data-driven approach to ad spend optimization. The presence of live chat and onboarding support also indicates a potential commitment to user assistance. The target merchant is likely one with a high refund rate and significant advertising expenditure.

Our Verdict
The choice between Claimbase: Instagram Sales and Pinpointed depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs and marketing strategy. Claimbase: Instagram Sales is the better choice for merchants looking to enhance their sales efforts specifically through Instagram, especially if they already have a strong presence on that platform. The higher review count (though still low) suggests a product that has found some success in its target market.
Pinpointed, on the other hand, is ideal for businesses that are heavily reliant on Google Ads and are experiencing issues with inflated ROI figures due to refunded orders. This app offers a more technical and specialized solution. While the single review makes it difficult to definitively recommend, its focus on Google Ads conversion adjustment makes it uniquely valuable for merchants needing granular control and accuracy in their ad spend reporting. Those with high refund rates would benefit most from implementing Pinpointed's sophisticated features.
