Clearpay On‑Site Messaging vs Tence Add‑Onsfor Shopify (2026)
Clearpay On-Site Messaging focuses narrowly on integrating with the Clearpay buy-now-pay-later service. Its primary goal is to increase conversions by promoting Clearpay's payment option directly on product and cart pages, specifically targeting Millennial and Gen Z shoppers who are already familiar with the service. The app offers a visual editor to customize messaging and align it with a store's branding, and enables merchants to configure order limit messaging related to their Clearpay account. Tence Add-Ons, on the other hand, is a broader solution designed to enhance a theme with various features, including improved payment condition display and social media promotion. It emphasizes ease of use and safety, assuring users that it won't modify theme files and provides multiple features packaged together. The core difference lies in their specific aims. Clearpay On-Site Messaging is hyper-focused on promoting Clearpay as a payment option, while Tence Add-Ons offers a collection of enhancements to a store's theme, including but not limited to payment-related features. The review count and average rating suggest Clearpay has a larger user base, although a lower average satisfaction score. Tence Add-Ons is nascent, with limited reviews, but a perfect score. Selecting between them relies on whether the merchant wants to promote the Clearpay BNPL service directly, or generally improve its theme.

Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to increase conversions by directly promoting Clearpay to Millennial and Gen Z customers, and you need customized messaging, Clearpay On-Site Messaging is the better choice. Despite its lower rating, the app specifically caters to Clearpay users and offers a visual editor for personalized messaging.
However, if you're looking for a broader set of theme enhancements, including improved payment condition displays, social media promotion, and a fluid search function, Tence Add-Ons might be more suitable, particularly if you value the guarantee of no theme file alterations. Although its review count is low, the perfect rating may indicate a positive early user experience for those seeking general improvements. Because Tence Add-Ons offers more features, it's for the merchant who needs general improvements and isn't focused on only Clearpay.
