Coco: AI WhatsApp Marketing vs ExpressText Connectfor Shopify (2026)
Coco: AI WhatsApp Marketing and ExpressText Connect both aim to enhance customer engagement and drive sales through messaging, but they differ significantly in their approach and platform. Coco leverages WhatsApp, positioning itself as an AI-powered marketing solution encompassing cart recovery, campaigns, and live chat. It emphasizes automation, AI-driven personalization (including translation), and ease of use through a no-code setup. Its key strength lies in its comprehensive feature set, particularly the AI sales assistant and multilingual capabilities. ExpressText Connect, in contrast, focuses on SMS marketing and data synchronization. It prioritizes seamless integration with Shopify to facilitate targeted SMS campaigns based on customer segmentation. ExpressText Connect highlights its 'white-glove' service, suggesting a hands-on support model for its users, appealing to merchants who prefer assisted setup and ongoing management. Coco aims for a broader appeal, targeting merchants seeking a full-fledged, AI-driven WhatsApp marketing solution. The language translation and AI agent suggests a focus on international or diverse customer bases. ExpressText Connect, however, seems geared toward merchants already invested in SMS marketing who require efficient subscriber data synchronization and personalized text messaging capabilities. While Coco offers an all-in-one marketing platform using WhatsApp, ExpressText Connect specializes in improving SMS marketing with better data management and customer segmentation.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a comprehensive, AI-driven WhatsApp marketing solution with multilingual capabilities and automated cart recovery, Coco: AI WhatsApp Marketing is the stronger choice. Its breadth of features, including the AI sales assistant and language translation, caters to businesses with diverse customer bases and a desire for minimal manual intervention. The higher number of reviews also suggests greater market adoption and a more established track record.
However, if a merchant is primarily focused on SMS marketing and needs a reliable solution for syncing subscriber data and executing targeted campaigns, ExpressText Connect is likely the better option. Its emphasis on seamless data integration and 'white-glove' support makes it particularly suitable for businesses that prefer a hands-on approach with dedicated assistance. The perfect 5-star rating, although based on fewer reviews, could indicate a high level of satisfaction among its core users. SMS is less prone to getting lost in the noise that's associated with channels like WhatsApp.
