Coco: AI WhatsApp Marketing vs SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recoveryfor Shopify (2026)
Coco: AI WhatsApp Marketing and SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery offer Shopify merchants distinct approaches to abandoned cart recovery and customer engagement. Coco focuses on leveraging AI and WhatsApp, emphasizing personalized conversations and multi-language support to maximize conversions. It aims to be a comprehensive AI-powered marketing solution, going beyond simple cart recovery with features like welcome messages, GDPR compliance, and real-time ROI tracking. In contrast, SMSGo specializes in SMS marketing with a strong focus on cart recovery automation, including features like scheduled SMS alerts with discounts, post-purchase upsell flows, and targeted customer segmentation. While both apps aim to boost sales, Coco caters to merchants looking for a global, conversation-driven approach through WhatsApp, leveraging AI for personalized interactions and translation. SMSGo, on the other hand, is designed for merchants prioritizing SMS marketing and automated SMS sequences, providing tools for customer win-back, feedback collection, and customized SMS sender IDs. The choice between the two depends heavily on the merchant's preferred communication channel (WhatsApp vs. SMS) and their comfort level with leveraging AI for marketing. SMSGo's higher rating (4.9) and slightly larger focus on direct ROI in marketing are attractive, but the total number of reviews is significantly lower than Coco's (14 vs 53). This makes the rating somewhat less statistically significant, though still indicative of a strong initial customer experience.
