Our Verdict
For merchants who need a very basic and straightforward solution for adding simple tracking codes (like Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel) to their Shopify store, and are comfortable with JavaScript and CSS only, CodeUp ‑ Add Custom Code might be sufficient. However, the limited number of reviews suggests a lack of widespread adoption, creating more risk of poor support or bugs.
For most merchants, especially those who anticipate needing more granular control over code placement (specific pages, products, or collections), or who need to inject HTML or Liquid code, XO Insert Code appears to be the stronger choice. Its high rating and larger number of reviews indicate greater reliability and satisfaction among its user base. The added features and support for various code types make it a more future-proof and versatile option, despite likely being marginally more complex.
