Convermax: Year Make Model vs Search & Discovery ‑ Viselyfor Shopify (2026)
Convermax: Year Make Model and Search & Discovery ‑ Visely both aim to improve the customer search experience on Shopify stores, but they target distinct niches. Convermax specializes in auto parts and accessories, providing advanced Year-Make-Model (YMM) fitment search integrated with diverse data sources. It goes beyond basic YMM functionality with features like My Garage, Verify Fitment, and fitment-specific landing pages. Search & Discovery ‑ Visely, on the other hand, offers a more general-purpose search and discovery solution. It focuses on improving overall search relevancy and user engagement with features such as tailored filters, recommendations, and custom rankings. The core difference lies in their specialization. Convermax is deeply embedded in the automotive industry, focusing on precise part fitment, while Visely provides broader tools to enhance search across various product categories. Convermax integrates with industry-specific data sources and functionalities like storing vehicle selections across sessions, highlighting its dedication to the auto parts market. Visely is more generic, providing recommendations, custom filters, and A/B testing. The lower review count for Convermax should be taken into consideration as a potential risk to the sustainability and long-term support for the app, and the feature set should be evaluated against its cost.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants selling auto parts and accessories, Convermax: Year Make Model is the clear choice. Its specialized features like Year-Make-Model lookup, integrated data sources, and 'My Garage' function cater specifically to the needs of this niche. The lower number of reviews should be considered, but the specialized functionality is hard to beat for auto parts stores.
For general Shopify stores selling a wider variety of products, Search & Discovery ‑ Visely offers a more versatile solution. Its tailored filters, recommendations, and custom rankings can improve the search experience for a broader range of products. Its high review count compared to Convermax may also give the impression of being a safer long term investment. Visely is the better option for e-commerce businesses that want a customizable search engine that will improve the navigation and discovery of diverse products.
