CPB ‑ Custom Product Builder vs Smart Size Chart & Size Guidefor Shopify (2026)
CPB ‑ Custom Product Builder and Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, while both operating within the Shopify ecosystem and listed under 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories, serve fundamentally different purposes and cater to distinct merchant needs. Our Verdict
CPB ‑ Custom Product Builder is ideal for merchants whose business model revolves around offering highly customizable products. If your customers frequently want to personalize products by changing materials, adding text, or uploading images, CPB's advanced features like conditional logic and SKU constructor will be invaluable. Smart Size Chart & Size Guide, on the other hand, is a must-have for any merchant selling items where sizing is critical, such as clothing, shoes, or jewelry. The app's focus on creating visually appealing and informative size charts can significantly reduce returns and improve customer satisfaction. A business selling personalized t-shirts might use BOTH – CPB to offer customization and Smart Size to ensure proper fit based on chosen designs.
Common Questions
Can CPB be used to display a size chart?
While CPB is primarily for product configuration, you could *potentially* incorporate a basic size chart as an image upload option within the product customization process, but it's not its primary strength.
Does Smart Size Chart integrate with product variant options?
The description does not explicitly state this. The focus is on displaying the chart itself, and managing it in relation to specific products. It is implied that the size chart selection can be triggered based on selected product variants.
Is either app specifically for print-on-demand (POD) businesses?
CPB mentions "Interactive Printable Areas For Embroidery, Print On Demand & Neon Signs." This strongly suggests it can integrate with POD workflows. Smart Size Chart doesn't specifically mention POD, but would be helpful for POD apparel businesses.
Which app is easier to integrate with external systems through an API?
CPB explicitly states it has an API for external systems, suggesting greater integration capabilities. Smart Size Chart doesn't mention an API in its description.
Which app focuses more on visual customization for the customer?
CPB focuses *extensively* on visual customization, as evident by features like live preview, artwork upload, and layer colorization. Smart Size Chart focuses on visual customization of *the chart itself* not the product being sold.
