CRO ‑ Insert Code vs Progus Store Locator Mapfor Shopify (2026)
CRO ‑ Insert Code and Progus Store Locator Map are Shopify apps catering to distinct needs. CRO ‑ Insert Code focuses on providing merchants with the ability to inject custom code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid) into their storefront, enabling them to add tracking pixels, custom styling, and other functionalities without directly editing theme files. This app aims to empower merchants to enhance their website's functionality and tracking capabilities through code insertion. Progus Store Locator Map, on the other hand, offers merchants with physical store locations a tool to create a customizable and user-friendly store locator map. This aims to increase in-store sales, improve customer support by making it easy for customers to find store locations, and provide analytics regarding customer search patterns. The core difference lies in their purpose. CRO ‑ Insert Code is designed for merchants seeking to customize and extend their online store's functionality via code, while Progus Store Locator Map targets merchants with physical storefronts looking to enhance their brick-and-mortar presence and drive in-store traffic. The former is concerned with online conversion optimization and customization, while the latter is concerned with connecting online customers to offline locations and gleaning insights into local demand.

Our Verdict
Choosing between CRO ‑ Insert Code and Progus Store Locator Map depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. CRO ‑ Insert Code is best suited for online-only merchants or those wanting to customize their storefront with Google Analytics, Facebook Pixels, or other Javascript/CSS injections. It's a powerful tool for those comfortable with basic code implementation.
Progus Store Locator Map is the superior choice for merchants who operate physical stores and aim to bridge the gap between their online presence and brick-and-mortar locations. If your business relies on customers visiting your physical stores, then Progus Store Locator Map provides essential functionality. The higher review count and perfect rating also suggest stronger user satisfaction, although this may be partially due to its more specialized and well-defined purpose.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, Progus Store Locator Map seems easier to set up due to its no API key requirement and quick installation. CRO ‑ Insert Code, while straightforward in its form-based approach, assumes the user has the correct code snippets ready.
Which app is more useful for an online-only store?
CRO ‑ Insert Code is the clear winner for online-only stores. Progus Store Locator Map's core functionality is irrelevant without physical locations.
Which app provides analytics?
Both apps offer analytics in some capacity. CRO ‑ Insert Code helps implement Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and other tracking code. Progus Store Locator Map provides analytics on where customers are searching for your stores.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, it's possible to use both apps, but their functionalities are largely independent. A merchant with physical stores could use Progus Store Locator Map to drive traffic to their stores and CRO ‑ Insert Code to customize the online experience or add tracking pixels to the online store. However, there's minimal overlap in their primary use cases.
Which app has better customer support?
Based on the information available, it's impossible to determine which app has better customer support. The review count for Progus Store Locator Map is significantly higher, which *might* indirectly indicate better support but that is purely speculative. The app descriptions do not explicitly mention customer support capabilities.
