Dataships Checkout Opt‑in vs Glancito:Email & SMS Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
Dataships Checkout Opt‑in and Glancito:Email & SMS Marketing offer distinct approaches to SMS and email marketing for Shopify merchants. Dataships focuses narrowly on optimizing checkout opt-ins, with an emphasis on dynamic consent management and compliance with regional privacy regulations. Its strength lies in acquiring new marketing contacts during the checkout process. Glancito, on the other hand, positions itself as a more comprehensive martech solution, providing a broader suite of tools for managing email, SMS, and social media marketing campaigns from a single platform. It emphasizes seamless integration, real-time data sync, and personalized customer experiences across multiple channels. Dataships targets merchants primarily concerned with maximizing opt-in rates during checkout while ensuring compliance with privacy laws. Its Klaviyo integration further suggests an ideal audience using Klaviyo as their primary marketing platform. Glancito seems aimed at merchants seeking a centralized platform to manage all their email, SMS, and social media marketing efforts, with a focus on creating targeted campaigns and leveraging predictive analytics for audience segmentation. The absence of user reviews for Glancito introduces uncertainty regarding its real-world performance and ease of use, compared to Dataships' established user base and positive ratings.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing checkout opt-in optimization, especially those already using Klaviyo and operating in regions with stringent privacy regulations, Dataships Checkout Opt‑in appears to be the stronger choice. Its proven track record (5/5 rating with 43 reviews) suggests reliability and effectiveness in its specific niche. However, if the goal is a more all-encompassing marketing solution that integrates email, SMS, and social media management within a single platform, Glancito:Email & SMS Marketing might be a worthwhile consideration, *provided* its functionality delivers on its promises. The lack of reviews makes it a riskier choice, and further research is recommended before committing.
Merchants on a very tight budget or with extremely basic marketing needs might find Dataships sufficient due to its focused approach. Those requiring sophisticated audience segmentation and personalized messaging across multiple channels might eventually outgrow Dataships, while Glancito claims to provide these capabilities (again, pending validation from user reviews).
Common Questions
Which app is better for GDPR compliance?
Dataships is explicitly designed with privacy regulations in mind, featuring dynamic consent forms and detailed audit logs, making it likely more suitable for GDPR compliance. Glancito does not explicitly mention GDPR compliance features.
Does Dataships offer features beyond checkout opt-in?
Dataships' primary focus is on checkout opt-in optimization. While it integrates with Klaviyo, its feature set beyond that core function isn't detailed.
How do I know if Glancito is reliable without any reviews?
Due to the lack of reviews for Glancito, contacting their support team for a demo and asking about their customer acquisition strategy is recommended. Requesting references from existing customers (if any) before committing is also a good idea. Look for case studies or other forms of social proof.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but it's likely redundant and could introduce conflicts. Dataships focuses on opt-in, while Glancito claims to offer comprehensive marketing automation, including SMS. If using Glancito, Dataships features are probably not needed.
Which app is easier to use for a beginner?
Without reviews for Glancito, it's impossible to definitively say. Dataships' focus on a single function (checkout opt-in) might make it easier to learn initially. However, Glancito's claim of an intuitive drag-and-drop editor could make it user-friendly despite its broader feature set. More information would be required for a decisive answer.
