Dataships Checkout Opt‑in vs Mercuri WhatsApp SMS Marketingfor Shopify (2026)
Dataships Checkout Opt‑in and Mercuri WhatsApp SMS Marketing are both Shopify apps focused on boosting marketing opt-ins, though they approach this goal from different angles. Dataships positions itself as a comprehensive consent management solution, concentrating on optimizing the checkout experience to capture email and SMS opt-ins while adhering to global privacy regulations. Its strength lies in its dynamic consent widget, Klaviyo integration, and focus on compliance. Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a complete solution for consent management, especially those operating in regions with stringent privacy regulations, Dataships Checkout Opt‑in is likely the better choice. Its dynamic consent widget and compliance tools offer crucial protection. Businesses specifically looking to leverage WhatsApp and SMS marketing for direct customer engagement, and who are perhaps less concerned with complex consent management, may find Mercuri WhatsApp SMS Marketing more appealing. However, the limited information available about Mercuri makes it harder to assess its overall value compared to the well-defined features of Dataships. The significant difference in the number of reviews also suggests that Dataships has a more established user base and potentially more proven performance.
