Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily focused on building a robust and compliant email/SMS marketing list from scratch, Dataships Checkout Opt‑in is the better choice. Its dynamic consent features and Klaviyo integration streamline the process of acquiring valuable customer data while adhering to privacy laws. However, if the priority is immediately recovering lost sales from abandoned carts and engaging existing customers with targeted SMS marketing campaigns, then SMSGo: Abandoned Cart Recovery offers a more direct and impactful solution. Merchants might even consider using both apps in conjunction, with Dataships handling initial opt-ins and SMSGo focusing on post-abandonment recovery and remarketing.
