Deposit & Partial Payment Depo vs Sezzle Widgetfor Shopify (2026)
Deposit & Partial Payment Depo and Sezzle Widget address distinct aspects of payment flexibility on Shopify, though both ultimately aim to increase sales. Depo focuses on providing a full suite of deposit and partial payment options, including pre-orders, split payments, and even integration with draft orders. It offers features like automated invoices and card vaulting, appealing to merchants needing granular control over payment schedules and seeking to manage pre-orders effectively. Sezzle Widget, conversely, is a more streamlined app focusing solely on promoting and integrating Sezzle's Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) service. It displays payment options on product pages and at checkout, targeting merchants primarily seeking to boost conversion rates and AOV by making purchases more accessible to customers who prefer installment payments, specifically within the US and Canada. The core difference lies in their breadth of functionality. Depo provides a comprehensive internal system for handling various payment arrangements, giving the merchant more direct control. Sezzle Widget simplifies the integration of an external BNPL service, letting Sezzle manage the payment plans. This makes Depo a good fit for businesses needing custom payment plans, while Sezzle is suited for those who want a plug-and-play BNPL option handled by a third party.
