Our Verdict
The choice between DIY Terms & Conditions and DRINKS ASSURE hinges entirely on the merchant's business type. For general Shopify stores needing a simple way to enforce terms and conditions or require acknowledgment of restrictions, DIY Terms & Conditions provides a customizable and straightforward solution. However, the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating are significant concerns.
For businesses in the alcohol industry, DRINKS ASSURE is the clear choice. Its specialized features, high rating, and focus on alcohol tax and compliance make it an essential tool for navigating the complex legal requirements of selling alcohol online. It automates critical processes and likely provides more value for merchants selling alcoholic beverages.
Common Questions
Can DIY Terms & Conditions handle age verification for age-restricted products?
DIY Terms & Conditions allows you to implement an acknowledgment of restrictions, like age requirements. It doesn't perform the age verification itself, but it can require customers to confirm they meet the age criteria before proceeding.
Does DRINKS ASSURE work for international alcohol sales?
The description doesn't explicitly state international capabilities. It's likely focused on US compliance due to references to Excise, Alcohol, and CRV taxes, and integration with ShipCompliant.
Is DIY Terms & Conditions difficult to set up?
Without reviews, it's difficult to assess. The description suggests a relatively straightforward setup process involving customizing text and linking to relevant pages. A demo is crucial before committing.
What reporting capabilities does DIY Terms & Conditions offer?
DIY Terms & Conditions records and timestamps consent events with the order. This provides a basic audit trail but might lack advanced reporting features.
Does DRINKS ASSURE integrate with other shipping solutions besides ShipCompliant?
The description only mentions integration with ShipCompliant for filings. Broader shipping solution integrations are not explicitly stated, and would depend on DRINKS's API capabilities, which are not covered by the app data.
