Dor vs Grapevine Post Purchase Surveyfor Shopify (2026)
Dor and Grapevine Post Purchase Survey are both analytics apps on the Shopify platform, but they cater to vastly different needs and merchant types. Dor focuses on *physical store* analytics by tracking foot traffic using a peel-and-stick, battery-powered thermal sensor. It aims to provide insights into brick-and-mortar store performance by combining foot traffic data with POS and revenue information. Grapevine, on the other hand, is geared towards understanding customer behavior and preferences *online* through post-purchase, on-site, email, and NPS surveys. The core difference lies in the data source. Dor offers a physical hardware solution for tracking in-person customers, offering ease of setup for immediate collection of store traffic data. Grapevine uses the more traditional digital method of surveys to gather feedback and opinions from online customers. The value proposition also differs significantly: Dor aims to optimize store layout and staffing based on traffic patterns, while Grapevine seeks to improve marketing strategies and CX based on survey responses.

Our Verdict
The choice between Dor and Grapevine depends entirely on the merchant's business model. Dor is the clear winner for businesses with physical storefronts looking to understand customer traffic patterns and optimize their in-store operations. The peel-and-stick sensor provides a straightforward solution for data collection, especially for merchants with multiple locations.
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is ideal for online retailers focused on improving customer experience and refining their marketing strategies through direct customer feedback. The unlimited survey responses and integrations with popular marketing tools make it a powerful platform for gathering and analyzing customer insights to drive business growth. If a merchant has both a physical store and an online presence, they may even find value in utilizing both apps for a complete picture of their customer journey.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Dor likely has a simpler initial setup, as it involves physically placing the sensor. Grapevine requires creating and configuring surveys, which can take more time upfront but may offer more flexibility in the long run.
Which app is more suitable for a small business?
For a small business with a limited budget, Grapevine may be a better starting point due to its potentially lower initial cost and focus on readily available customer data. Dor's pricing structure (likely including hardware costs) may be a barrier for some small businesses.
Which app provides more actionable insights?
The 'actionability' of the insights depends on the merchant's priorities. Dor helps optimize store layout, staffing, and product placement based on foot traffic. Grapevine enables targeted marketing campaigns, improved website design, and personalized customer service based on survey responses.
Which app is better for measuring marketing campaign effectiveness?
Grapevine, with its attribution surveys, is better suited for measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by directly asking customers how they found the store. Dor provides general traffic patterns, which are less directly tied to specific marketing initiatives (although more foot traffic could correlate with campaign success, the data is less granular).
Which app has a more developed integration ecosystem?
Based on the provided information, Grapevine seems to have a more developed integration ecosystem, especially with marketing automation platforms like Klaviyo and analytics tools like GA4. Dor has integrations with POS and offers an API, which also provide good integration capabilities.
