DRINKS ASSURE vs EPR Insightsfor Shopify (2026)
DRINKS ASSURE and EPR Insights are both Shopify apps in the Legal category, but they cater to very distinct and unrelated compliance needs. DRINKS ASSURE focuses specifically on alcohol tax and compliance for producers and retailers, particularly within the United States. It integrates directly into the Shopify checkout to ensure accurate tax calculations and adherence to regulations, promising a 'set-it-and-forget' solution for a complex industry. Its key strength lies in its real-time integration and comprehensive rule set, with 14 users rating it favorably. EPR Insights, on the other hand, addresses Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, specifically in Europe. It targets merchants who need to collect and report data related to packaging, batteries, and electronics to meet national regulations. The app aims to automate the often tedious process of data collection and reporting, thereby minimizing errors and saving time. While promising automated data collection and compliance, EPR Insights lacks user reviews, and has a rating of 0/5, indicating that the platform is likely new, or does not have adequate adoption yet.

Our Verdict
The choice between DRINKS ASSURE and EPR Insights is highly dependent on the merchant's specific needs. If a merchant is selling alcohol online within the US and requires real-time tax and compliance management, DRINKS ASSURE is the clear choice, especially considering its positive reviews and established features. The lack of reviews for EPR Insights warrants caution.
Conversely, if a merchant is operating in Europe and needs to comply with EPR regulations for packaging, batteries, or electronics, EPR Insights, in theory, offers a more tailored solution. However, the absence of user reviews and a zero rating make it a risky choice at this point. Merchants considering EPR Insights should proceed with caution and ideally seek a trial or demo to assess its effectiveness and reliability before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
DRINKS ASSURE appears to be easier to set up due to its pre-configured rules and seamless integration into the Shopify checkout. EPR Insights requires custom rule setup, which could be more complex, and is unproven due to the absence of reviews.
Does either app integrate with other platforms beyond Shopify?
DRINKS ASSURE optionally integrates with ShipCompliant, while EPR Insights doesn't explicitly mention any integrations beyond Shopify. This depends on whether a user needs to connect data to an existing ShipCompliant setup.
Which app provides more detailed reporting?
DRINKS ASSURE provides detailed reports for state filings. EPR Insights prepares data for reports, but the level of detail isn't explicitly stated. Therefore, DRINKS ASSURE likely provides more detailed reporting.
Which app is better for a small business?
For an alcohol business in the US, DRINKS ASSURE is the better option. For EPR compliance in Europe, neither app is demonstrably better as ERP insights lacks validation. Consider the value of set-and-forget approach, as well as the cost.
Which app is more expensive?
The provided information does not include pricing details for either app. A merchant would need to consult the Shopify App Store listings for pricing information to make an informed decision.
