DRINKS ASSURE vs Lifter Age Checkfor Shopify (2026)
DRINKS ASSURE and Lifter Age Check both cater to Shopify merchants in the 'Legal' category, but address distinctly different needs within that space. DRINKS ASSURE is a comprehensive solution focused on real-time alcohol tax and regulatory compliance, targeting alcohol producers and retailers selling directly through Shopify. Its strength lies in automating complex tax calculations and compliance rules, promising a 'set-it-and-forget' experience. Lifter Age Check, on the other hand, provides a simple age verification screen to deter underage visitors, appealing to businesses selling age-restricted products, not just alcohol. Its focus is on creating a professional first impression and ensuring initial legal compliance upon website entry. While both apps boast a perfect 5/5 rating, DRINKS ASSURE has double the number of reviews, suggesting wider adoption or perhaps more active user feedback. Lifter Age Check emphasizes customization and aesthetics, allowing merchants to tailor the age verification screen to match their brand. DRINKS ASSURE emphasizes its depth of legal compliance and its integration into the Shopify checkout process, including POS functionality and reporting capabilities. The core difference lies in functionality; one deals with ongoing, transaction-level compliance (DRINKS ASSURE) and the other with initial access verification (Lifter Age Check).

Our Verdict
The choice between DRINKS ASSURE and Lifter Age Check hinges entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If you are an alcohol producer or retailer who needs to manage complex alcohol taxes and regulatory compliance within the Shopify checkout process, DRINKS ASSURE is the clear choice. Its comprehensive features and integration with Shopify are designed specifically for this purpose. It offers significantly more value to alcohol businesses than Lifter Age Check.
However, if you sell a variety of age-restricted products (tobacco, vape, etc.) and simply need a customizable and professional age verification screen upon website entry, Lifter Age Check is a suitable option. It provides a simple and effective solution for verifying the age of visitors, ensuring basic legal compliance at the first point of contact. If you are an alcohol merchant who also needs age verification at store entry, the two apps could potentially be used in combination. However, DRINKS ASSURE does not specifically advertise an age verification feature at the store entry level.
