DRINKS ASSURE vs Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fieldsfor Shopify (2026)
DRINKS ASSURE and Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fields, while both categorized under "Legal" in the Shopify app store, address vastly different merchant needs. DRINKS ASSURE positions itself as a comprehensive, real-time solution for alcohol producers and retailers, focusing specifically on tax and regulatory compliance related to alcohol sales. Its strength lies in its pre-configured compliance rules, automatic updates, and seamless integration into the Shopify checkout. It aims to simplify complex alcohol tax calculations and reporting requirements. In contrast, Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fields, though lacking detailed information, appears to offer generic customization capabilities for the Shopify checkout experience. The primary differentiator lies in their target audience and core functionality. DRINKS ASSURE caters to businesses selling alcoholic beverages, offering specialized features like Excise, Alcohol, and CRV tax capture, and integration with ShipCompliant. Tusk likely caters to a broader range of merchants needing additional data capture during checkout, with unknown specializations beyond standard checkout field modification. The limited information available on Tusk makes it difficult to fully assess its capabilities beyond the stated functionality of custom checkout fields. DRINKS ASSURE, even with a limited review count, offers a clear and concise value proposition.

Our Verdict
For alcohol producers and retailers navigating the complex landscape of alcohol-related taxes and regulations, DRINKS ASSURE is the clear choice. Its specialized features, pre-configured rules, and reporting capabilities directly address the unique challenges faced by this niche. While Tusk ‑ Custom Checkout Fields might offer valuable checkout customization, it lacks the specific compliance features and industry focus required for legal alcohol sales.
Merchants seeking broad checkout customization with no specific need for alcohol compliance would need to evaluate Tusk or other similar custom field apps. However, the single review and lack of detailed feature descriptions make it challenging to assess its overall value and ease of use compared to more established checkout customization apps. DRINKS ASSURE's specialization outweighs the unknown of Tusk for merchants dealing with alcohol sales.
