Our Verdict
For merchants solely focused on aggressive growth and engagement through Instagram DMs, Drop: Instagram DM Marketing may seem appealing, especially if the claimed Meta partnership truly delivers unique advantages. However, the lack of reviews and 0/5 rating suggests significant risk. Retention X is the clear choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. It provides a proven (5/5 rating, 118 reviews) and comprehensive suite of tools for customer intelligence, attribution, and marketing automation, catering to a wider range of marketing needs. Retention X's broad functionality offers a more sustainable and scalable approach to e-commerce growth than a channel-specific solution like Drop, particularly when the latter lacks a proven track record.
