Easy Custom CSS vs Flair Product Badges + Labelsfor Shopify (2026)
Easy Custom CSS and Flair Product Badges + Labels, both categorized as 'Design elements' apps on Shopify, cater to vastly different needs and skill levels. Easy Custom CSS targets merchants with at least a basic understanding of CSS who want to directly modify their store's theme appearance without directly editing theme code. It offers features like syntax highlighting and autocompletion, aiming to simplify the CSS editing process. However, the extremely low rating (1.4/5) based on only 4 reviews suggests significant issues with the app's usability, functionality, or customer support. Flair Product Badges + Labels, on the other hand, focuses on a specific design element: product badges and labels. Its high rating (5/5) based on a significant number of reviews (227) indicates a well-received and reliable solution for adding visual cues to products, likely to highlight promotions, new arrivals, or other product attributes. While both apps fall under 'Design elements', their functionalities, target users, and, crucially, customer satisfaction differ dramatically. One is for broad CSS customization, and the other is for focused product label creation.

Our Verdict
Given the extreme difference in ratings and review counts, Flair Product Badges + Labels is the clear choice for merchants looking to enhance their product visuals with badges and labels. The high rating suggests a reliable and user-friendly experience. It's tailored for merchants who want a simple, effective way to draw attention to specific products without needing any coding skills.
Easy Custom CSS, with its extremely low rating, presents a significant risk. Unless a merchant has a very specific need for direct CSS control and is willing to troubleshoot potential issues, it's difficult to recommend. A thorough investigation of the negative reviews is essential before considering this app. Merchants comfortable with CSS might be better served by alternative CSS customization solutions, or even direct theme edits with proper precautions.
