Easy Image Sitemap vs Sherpas: Smart SEOfor Shopify (2026)
Easy Image Sitemap and Sherpas: Smart SEO both address SEO needs for Shopify merchants but take fundamentally different approaches. Easy Image Sitemap focuses solely on image SEO through automated sitemap creation, submission, and monitoring within Google Search Console. This app is laser-focused on ensuring Google accurately indexes your store's images, driving organic traffic from image searches. Sherpas: Smart SEO, on the other hand, is a comprehensive SEO suite covering a much broader range of optimization areas, from meta tags and image optimization to page speed and link building. The key difference lies in scope. Easy Image Sitemap offers a specialized solution for image SEO, appealing to merchants who prioritize image-driven traffic or have a large inventory of visual content. Sherpas: Smart SEO positions itself as an all-in-one solution designed to improve overall SEO performance. It utilizes AI (ChatGPT-4 Turbo) to enhance meta and alt tags, automatically finds broken links, analyzes backlinks, and offers structured data implementation. It's designed to make complex SEO tasks easier and automate mundane ones, making it suitable for merchants who need a broader SEO solution.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with optimizing their image SEO and ensuring their images are properly indexed by Google, Easy Image Sitemap is the more targeted and efficient solution. Its automated approach to sitemap creation, submission, and monitoring saves time and ensures compliance.
However, for merchants seeking a holistic SEO strategy that addresses various aspects of on-page optimization, technical SEO, and link building, Sherpas: Smart SEO is the better choice. The app's AI-powered features, comprehensive toolset, and automated tasks make it a powerful asset for improving overall SEO performance and driving organic traffic, even though it may not be as focused on just image optimization. Given the vast difference in reviews, it would be wise to investigate why Easy Image Sitemap has so few reviews.
