EasyRoutes Local Delivery vs Parcel Panel Order Trackingfor Shopify (2026)
EasyRoutes Local Delivery and Parcel Panel Order Tracking, while both listed under the 'Shipping' category on the Shopify App Store, address very different aspects of the shipping process. EasyRoutes focuses on streamlining local delivery operations, offering route optimization, driver management, and customer notifications specifically tailored for merchants handling their own deliveries. Parcel Panel, on the other hand, appears to be primarily focused on *order tracking* across various carriers, likely suited for merchants who outsource their shipping needs and want to provide customers with up-to-date information on their order's journey. The core difference lies in their target audience and functionality. EasyRoutes is designed for businesses with local delivery fleets, offering tools to plan efficient routes, manage drivers, and provide customers with real-time updates. Parcel Panel caters to merchants who rely on external carriers, providing a centralized platform to track shipments and offer customers a branded tracking experience. Therefore, comparing them directly is difficult as they solve entirely different problems within the broader shipping landscape.

Our Verdict
The choice between EasyRoutes Local Delivery and Parcel Panel Order Tracking hinges entirely on a merchant's delivery model. If a business manages its own local deliveries, EasyRoutes is the clear choice, offering comprehensive route optimization and driver management features. Parcel Panel is irrelevant in this scenario.
Conversely, if a merchant relies on external carriers for shipping, Parcel Panel becomes essential for providing customers with up-to-date order tracking information. EasyRoutes offers no value for tracking orders fulfilled by external services. Consider each app within the context of your specific shipping and fulfillment needs before making a decision.
Common Questions
Does EasyRoutes track shipments fulfilled by UPS or FedEx?
No, EasyRoutes Local Delivery is designed for businesses handling their own local deliveries. It focuses on optimizing routes for in-house delivery drivers, not tracking shipments through external carriers like UPS or FedEx. Parcel Panel is more suitable for tracking shipments through external carriers.
Can Parcel Panel optimize delivery routes for my drivers?
No, Parcel Panel Order Tracking focuses on tracking orders fulfilled by external shipping companies. It doesn't offer route optimization for local delivery drivers. If you need route optimization, consider EasyRoutes Local Delivery.
Which app is better for reducing delivery costs?
EasyRoutes Local Delivery is directly aimed at reducing delivery costs by optimizing routes and improving driver efficiency. Parcel Panel primarily focuses on improving the customer experience with order tracking and may indirectly reduce support inquiries, but doesn't directly affect delivery costs.
Which app is better for improving the customer experience?
Both apps improve the customer experience, but in different ways. EasyRoutes provides real-time tracking and delivery notifications for local deliveries, while Parcel Panel offers centralized tracking across various carriers. The 'better' app depends on whether you handle local deliveries or rely on external carriers.
If I use both my own delivery drivers AND external shipping companies, do I need both apps?
Potentially, yes. If you have a mix of local deliveries and shipments handled by external carriers, you may benefit from using both EasyRoutes for your local deliveries and Parcel Panel for tracking orders shipped by other companies. This will ensure comprehensive tracking coverage for all orders.
