eCard Widget ‑ Greeting Cards vs Gift Card Hero • All‑in‑onefor Shopify (2026)
eCard Widget ‑ Greeting Cards and Gift Card Hero • All‑in‑one both cater to the 'Gifts' category on Shopify, but they target different aspects of gifting. eCard Widget focuses on personalized, branded e-cards that customers can send to others, functioning as a digital greeting card platform directly integrated into the merchant's store. The key is customization: merchants control the design, layout, and branding of these e-cards, allowing for integration into overall marketing and branding strategies. It uniquely offers features like address book imports for bulk sending, indicating a focus on promotional or marketing campaigns. Gift Card Hero, on the other hand, offers a more comprehensive gift card solution, encompassing eGift vouchers, physical gift cards, balance top-ups, and point-of-sale (POS) integration. Gift Card Hero targets merchants who want a full-fledged gift card system, offering features such as scheduled sending, video greetings, bulk operations via CSV, and balance management. It emphasizes revenue generation and customer relationship building through gift card functionalities. While eCard Widget might appeal to smaller businesses looking for a simpler way to incorporate personalized digital greetings, Gift Card Hero is suited to larger merchants seeking a robust and scalable gift card program. The large difference in the number of reviews (5 vs. 134) suggests that Gift Card Hero has a broader user base and more established presence in the Shopify ecosystem.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a simple, cost-effective way to add personalized, branded e-cards to their online store, eCard Widget ‑ Greeting Cards offers a focused solution. It's ideal for businesses primarily interested in using e-cards for marketing or promotional purposes and don't require the complex features of a full gift card program. The address book and bulk sending functionalities are a plus for targeted campaigns. Given the very low number of reviews, prospective users should carefully evaluate the current feature set and stability. Gift Card Hero • All‑in‑one, on the other hand, is the better choice for merchants aiming to establish a comprehensive gift card program, offering features such as balance top-ups, physical gift cards, video greetings, and POS integration. Its higher review count suggests a more mature and widely adopted product.
