ECF: Contact Form Builder vs Fairing Post Purchase Surveysfor Shopify (2026)
ECF: Contact Form Builder and Fairing Post Purchase Surveys, while both falling under the 'Surveys' category on Shopify, serve vastly different purposes and target distinct merchant needs. ECF focuses on enabling merchants to create custom forms, like contact forms or testimonial forms, directly integrated into their website. Its strength lies in its drag-and-drop interface, conditional logic, and integration with marketing tools for lead generation and customer interaction. Fairing, on the other hand, is designed for post-purchase surveys to gather valuable customer insights related to attribution, customer lifetime value (LTV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS), ultimately aiming to optimize marketing spend and understand customer behavior. Fairing's key advantage is its Shopify Plus certification, LTV analytics, seamless integrations with various platforms, including Klaviyo and Google Sheets, and AI-powered insights. It's designed to provide data-driven insights into marketing channel performance and customer segmentation. Essentially, ECF focuses on capturing information from customers *before* a purchase, while Fairing focuses on gathering insights *after* the purchase to improve marketing and customer understanding.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing flexible and visually appealing forms for contact pages, testimonials, or other data collection points *before* a sale, ECF: Contact Form Builder is the clear choice. Its drag-and-drop interface and integrations make it user-friendly for creating various types of forms. However, if the priority is understanding *where* sales are coming from, improving marketing ROI, and gaining insights into customer LTV through post-purchase surveys, Fairing Post Purchase Surveys is the superior option. Its Shopify Plus certification and advanced analytics make it well-suited for larger, more sophisticated Shopify stores seeking data-driven insights to optimize their marketing strategies. A small business just starting out might prioritize ECF, whereas a scaling brand would benefit more from Fairing.
