Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a direct, short-term boost in sales through enhanced shopping cart features, ESC Wishlist + Save for Later *could* be considered, *if* its critical low ratings and extremely sparse reviews are addressed. However, the significantly negative sentiment suggested by the rating makes it a risky choice without further investigation. On the other hand, GoodAPI Plant Tree Clean Ocean is much better positioned for merchants focused on long-term customer loyalty and brand building through sustainable practices, specifically targeting eco-conscious consumers. The high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest a positive user experience and a reliable application.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
GoodAPI likely offers an easier setup due to its dedicated support team and positive reviews regarding ease of use. ESC Wishlist has no mentioned support and the negative ratings may indicate difficulty.
Which app offers a better return on investment (ROI)?
ROI depends on the merchant's goals. ESC Wishlist aims for direct sales increases, making ROI easier to track if implemented effectively. GoodAPI's ROI is more indirect, tied to customer loyalty and brand perception, which can be harder to quantify but potentially more valuable long-term. Given the extremely low review rating of ESC, the ROI is much less likely to be positive.
Which app is better for a new Shopify store?
GoodAPI is generally a safer bet for a new store due to its positive reviews and focus on building a positive brand image from the start. ESC Wishlist would not be advised without serious improvement.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but their functionalities are distinct. A merchant could use GoodAPI to build loyalty and then ESC Wishlist (if it had better reviews) to enhance the shopping experience. It's crucial to ensure they don't conflict with each other on the storefront.
Which app is more customizable?
ESC Wishlist states 'A broad range of options for customizing how the app looks on your store', suggesting more front-end customization. However, GoodAPI allows for branding on various customer touchpoints (Home, Product, etc.). Both may offer different types of customization.
