Essential Free Shipping Upsell vs Smartviewer: Quick Viewfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Free Shipping Upsell and Smartviewer: Quick View, while both touching on cart and checkout, address fundamentally different aspects of the customer journey and target distinct merchant needs. Essential Free Shipping Upsell is centered on maximizing Average Order Value (AOV) and sales by incentivizing customers to spend more to qualify for free shipping or other rewards, leveraging a progress bar and upsell/cross-sell opportunities. Our Verdict
If your primary goal is to increase the average amount customers spend on each order and you're willing to invest time in customization and promotional strategies, Essential Free Shipping Upsell is the better choice. It directly addresses revenue generation through upselling and incentivized spending. This would be ideal for stores selling products with variable margins or where higher order values significantly improve profitability.
However, if you have a large product catalog and want to improve the browsing experience for your customers, making it faster and easier for them to find and preview products without constant page reloads, Smartviewer: Quick View is the more suitable option. It focuses on streamlining the initial shopping journey, potentially leading to higher overall conversion rates, especially beneficial for stores where customers often browse extensively before making a purchase.
