Essential Free Shipping Upsell vs Wiz: Checkout upsell & contentfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Free Shipping Upsell and Wiz: Checkout upsell & content both aim to increase Average Order Value (AOV) through upselling and cross-selling, but they approach this goal from different angles and target slightly different Shopify merchants. Essential Free Shipping Upsell focuses primarily on leveraging the 'free shipping' incentive through a customizable progress bar, complemented by more general cart upsells. Wiz, on the other hand, concentrates on optimizing the checkout experience directly with upsells, volume discounts, A/B testing, and post-purchase flows. The core difference lies in their operational focus. Essential Free Shipping Upsell is designed for simplicity and ease of use, allowing merchants to quickly implement a free shipping threshold and basic cart-based upselling strategies. Wiz aims for deeper integration with the checkout process, giving merchants more control and analytical power to refine their upselling and conversion strategies. Wiz also provides tools for post-purchase upsells, which aren't mentioned in the Essential Free Shipping Upsell description.
