Essential Search Redirects vs Recomatic Related Productsfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Search Redirects and Recomatic Related Products both aim to improve the shopping experience and increase sales through enhanced search and navigation, but they approach this goal from drastically different angles. Essential Search Redirects focuses on optimizing the search functionality by redirecting 'no results' searches to relevant products or collections and guiding visitors to targeted landing pages. Its primary focus is on rescuing potentially lost sales stemming from unsuccessful customer searches. Recomatic Related Products, on the other hand, uses automated product recommendations displayed in 'related products' sections. It helps customers discover other relevant items and leverages sales data and product attributes to maximize conversion rates, offering detailed reporting and customization options. The key distinction lies in their core functionality: Essential Search Redirects focuses on improving search query outcomes, while Recomatic Related Products focuses on upselling and cross-selling by highlighting potentially interesting products. Essential Search Redirects is targeted at merchants who want to refine their search functionality and reduce lost sales due to unfulfilled search queries, while Recomatic Related Products is aimed at merchants who want to boost their sales by leveraging smart related product recommendations.

Our Verdict
Based on the available data, Recomatic Related Products appears to be a safer bet for most merchants in 2026. Its high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest a proven track record of success. The focus on related products allows for easier cross-selling and upselling opportunities, potentially leading to a more immediate and measurable ROI. The availability of conversion tracking and customization further increases its appeal.
Essential Search Redirects, while potentially useful, lacks any evidence of success or user satisfaction. Merchants should be extremely cautious before installing an app with no reviews, especially considering the potential impact on the search functionality. If a merchant specifically struggles with a high percentage of zero-result searches, they might consider Essential Search Redirects, but only after very careful evaluation and testing, and potentially contacting the developer to understand its workings more fully.
