Essential Upsell & Cross Sell vs HeiChat: ChatGPT Sales Chatbotfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell and HeiChat: ChatGPT Sales Chatbot both operate within the Upsell and Cross-sell category on Shopify, but they target drastically different merchant needs. Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on strategically boosting AOV through carefully crafted upsell and cross-sell offers, Essential Upsell & Cross Sell is the clear choice. Its features like frequently bought together suggestions, product bundles, and post-purchase upsells provide granular control over the sales process. However, for merchants struggling with customer support volume or looking to provide 24/7 multilingual assistance, HeiChat: ChatGPT Sales Chatbot is a more suitable option. It automates customer service and offers personalized product recommendations based on customer interactions, freeing up staff time and potentially increasing sales indirectly.
In short, if your goal is direct AOV optimization via strategic product placements, go with Essential Upsell. If you need to improve customer service responsiveness and offload common inquiries, HeiChat is the better investment.
