Essential Upsell & Cross Sell vs Razorpay COD & Magic Checkoutfor Shopify (2026)
Essential Upsell & Cross Sell and Razorpay COD & Magic Checkout target fundamentally different aspects of the e-commerce experience. Essential Upsell focuses on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through strategic product recommendations and discounts within the product page and cart experience. It aims to incentivize customers to purchase more items by showcasing frequently bought together products, related items, and offering post-purchase upsells. Razorpay COD & Magic Checkout, on the other hand, concentrates on optimizing the checkout process, particularly for merchants in India or those dealing with Cash on Delivery (COD). It strives to enhance conversions by simplifying the checkout flow, reducing Return to Origin (RTO) rates through risk detection, and offering customized payment and shipping suggestions. The core difference lies in their value proposition. Essential Upsell centers on sales growth through upselling and cross-selling tactics, while Razorpay COD & Magic Checkout prioritizes streamlining the checkout process and mitigating risks associated with COD orders. Essential Upsell is ideal for merchants looking to increase AOV through strategic product placement and promotions. Conversely, Razorpay COD & Magic Checkout is tailored for merchants, especially those in markets with a strong COD preference, who need to optimize their checkout experience, reduce RTO, and enhance customer trust.
