ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods vs Restrict / Disable Gift Cardsfor Shopify (2026)
ETP Sort Hide Payment Methods and Restrict / Disable Gift Cards both aim to optimize the Shopify checkout experience, but address entirely different aspects of payment management. ETP focuses on controlling *which* payment options are presented to the customer based on a wide array of conditional rules (location, cart value, etc.). Its strength lies in providing granular control over the payment gateway visibility to enhance conversion rates by simplifying the checkout flow. The target audience for ETP is merchants seeking to streamline payment selections and personalize the checkout experience. Restrict / Disable Gift Cards, on the other hand, is centered on managing gift card usage in conjunction with discounts and geographical restrictions. Its core purpose is to prevent customers from stacking discounts with gift cards and to honor location-based gift card policies. It's ideal for merchants wanting to enforce fair order policies regarding gift card redemption and prevent abuse by limiting gift card usage based on location. While both apps fall under the 'Payment options - Other' category, their functionalities are completely distinct; ETP controls payment method *visibility*, whereas Restrict / Disable Gift Cards governs *gift card usage policies*.
