Our Verdict
The choice between EventEngage and Lyve hinges on a merchant's specific goals. EventEngage is ideal for businesses that actively use events as a core marketing strategy and want a streamlined way to manage and promote them through their Shopify store. It's well-suited for businesses that want to build a local community or offer specialized classes or workshops.
Lyve is the better option for merchants looking to enhance their online presence with engaging video content and drive sales through shoppable experiences. Its strength lies in leveraging existing video platforms and using AI to personalize the video experience for customers. If a store heavily relies on social media marketing, Lyve provides an excellent way to bridge that gap and integrate video content directly into the sales funnel. Given the significantly higher number of reviews and focus on conversion rate optimization, Lyve is likely the stronger choice for many e-commerce businesses in 2026.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a brick-and-mortar store?
EventEngage is arguably more valuable for brick-and-mortar stores, as it facilitates the promotion and management of in-store events, encouraging local customers to visit. Lyve could be used to showcase the store's atmosphere, but it's primarily geared toward online engagement.
Does either app require coding experience?
EventEngage explicitly states 'No coding required - easy theme app block installation.' Lyve does not mention coding requirements, implying that it strives for ease of integration, but the level of technical expertise required is unclear.
Which app focuses more on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
EventEngage emphasizes SEO optimization, stating that its event listings are SEO-optimized via the use of embedded structured data snippets. Lyve focuses on discoverability within platforms like Shop App and social media, not traditional SEO.
Which app is better for customer retention?
Both apps can contribute to customer retention. EventEngage builds community through events, fostering a sense of belonging. Lyve provides personalized video experiences, potentially leading to increased engagement and loyalty. The choice depends on whether you want to build relationships through active participation (EventEngage) or passive content consumption (Lyve).
Can both apps work together on the same site?
Potentially, yes. They address different aspects of customer engagement. A merchant could use EventEngage to promote events and Lyve to create shoppable video content related to those events or the products featured in them. However, merchants would need to ensure the apps do not conflict or negatively impact site performance.
