ExpressText Connect vs Sinch: Automated SMS & MMSfor Shopify (2026)
ExpressText Connect and Sinch: Automated SMS & MMS both operate within the SMS marketing category for Shopify merchants, but target different segments and offer distinct functionalities. ExpressText Connect focuses on seamless data syncing from Shopify to their platform, enabling precise customer segmentation and personalized messaging. This suggests a strong emphasis on targeted campaigns driven by customer data, potentially appealing to merchants who already have a solid understanding of their customer base and want to leverage that knowledge for SMS marketing. Their advertised "white-glove service" points to a focus on ease of use and onboarding through personal support. Sinch, on the other hand, provides a more comprehensive SMS marketing automation solution. It emphasizes abandoned cart recovery, two-way texting, and integrating with Shopify Flow for automated workflows. This wider feature set targets merchants looking for a complete SMS marketing platform that handles the entire customer journey, from acquisition to post-purchase engagement. Sinch's focus on reporting and ROI tracking also makes it attractive to data-driven merchants who want to measure the effectiveness of their SMS campaigns.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants who already have a strong understanding of their customer data and primarily want to leverage that information for highly targeted SMS campaigns, ExpressText Connect is a strong option. Its focus on data syncing and personalized messaging, combined with its "white-glove" support, promises a smooth and easy-to-use experience. However, for merchants seeking a more comprehensive SMS marketing platform with features like abandoned cart recovery, two-way texting, Shopify Flow integration, and robust ROI reporting, Sinch: Automated SMS & MMS is the better choice. While its rating is slightly lower and review count is similar, its broader feature set offers a more complete solution for managing the entire SMS marketing lifecycle.
