Extendons Whatsapp Integration vs Focal Live Chat & Helpdeskfor Shopify (2026)
Both Extendons Whatsapp Integration and Focal Live Chat & Helpdesk are Shopify apps with a perfect 5/5 rating, aiming to improve customer engagement through chat functionalities. However, they differ significantly in scope. Extendons Whatsapp Integration focuses specifically on integrating WhatsApp for customer communication. In contrast, Focal Live Chat & Helpdesk positions itself as an all-in-one customer support solution, offering a live chat widget and integration with multiple social media channels like Facebook, Line, SMS, Telegram, and Emails alongside WhatsApp, managed through a centralized helpdesk dashboard. Focal Live Chat & Helpdesk appears geared towards larger Shopify stores or those managing customer interactions across multiple platforms, providing a comprehensive solution for managing all customer queries in one place. Its automation features and real-time reporting are designed to streamline support operations and improve team efficiency. Extendons Whatsapp Integration likely targets merchants primarily communicating with customers through WhatsApp, offering a more focused integration without the complexity of managing multiple channels. The limited review count for Focal compared to Extendons might indicate a newer app or a smaller user base, so merchants need to consider the risks with an app that has so few reviews.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants whose primary customer communication channel is WhatsApp, Extendons Whatsapp Integration may offer a more straightforward and potentially less expensive solution. Its simplicity could make it easier to set up and manage. However, merchants dealing with customer queries across various social media and communication channels will likely find Focal Live Chat & Helpdesk a more powerful and valuable tool. Its omnichannel capabilities, automation features, and reporting provide a centralized platform for managing customer support and improving team efficiency.
The significant difference in review counts (26 vs 2) is an important consideration. While both have perfect ratings, the limited number of reviews for Focal suggests a potentially higher risk for merchants, as there is less community feedback to rely on. Merchants should consider this carefully before choosing Focal. It's essential to assess your current and future customer communication needs and select the app that aligns best with your business strategy and technical capabilities.
