EZ Exporter ‑ Data Exports vs Locadfor Shopify (2026)
EZ Exporter - Data Exports and Locad, while both listed under the 'Analytics' category in Shopify, cater to vastly different needs of e-commerce merchants. EZ Exporter focuses on providing highly customizable and automated data export capabilities. Its strength lies in allowing merchants to extract specific data points related to orders, products, customers, and more, and then format and deliver this data to various endpoints like email, FTP servers, and cloud storage services. This positions EZ Exporter as a tool for merchants seeking granular control over their data reporting and integration with other systems. In contrast, Locad offers a complete logistics and fulfillment solution, specifically targeting merchants operating or expanding into the Asia-Pacific region. Locad's strength is in providing a platform for managing inventory, automating order fulfillment, optimizing shipping, and providing visibility into the logistics process. While it offers reporting and analysis features, these are centered around logistics performance rather than general data exports and manipulation like EZ Exporter. Locad is positioned for merchants seeking to outsource and streamline their warehousing, packing, shipping, and tracking processes across multiple locations in Asia-Pacific.

Our Verdict
EZ Exporter is the clear choice for merchants who need to deeply customize and automate their data exports for business intelligence, reporting, or integration with other systems like ERP or 3PL. Its advanced features such as Calculated Fields (Python) and ShopifyQL support complex data manipulation and analysis. It is less suitable for merchants primarily seeking logistics solutions.
Locad, on the other hand, is ideal for merchants who are looking to outsource their warehousing, packing, and shipping operations, particularly within the Asia-Pacific region. If your primary need is a robust fulfillment network and automated order processing in that geographic area, Locad is the appropriate choice. The extremely low rating with limited reviews raises concerns about Locad's reliability and quality of service, however, this should be factored into the decision-making process. Merchants should investigate further before committing to Locad.
Common Questions
Which app is better for creating product feeds for advertising?
EZ Exporter is better suited for creating customized product feeds due to its flexible data export and manipulation capabilities.
Which app handles shipping directly to customers?
Locad handles shipping directly to customers through its network of warehouses and shipping partners in Asia-Pacific.
Can I use both apps together?
Potentially. You could use EZ Exporter to extract sales data and then send that data to Locad's platform for logistics analysis. However, the integration might require custom development or intermediary tools.
Which app offers more general analytics reporting?
While EZ Exporter can export data for analytics, Locad provides analytics specifically related to your logistics performance, such as shipping times and order fulfillment efficiency.
Which app is easier to set up?
Given its simpler functionality (if you're strictly looking for logistics), Locad might have a slightly easier initial setup for merchants focused solely on outsourcing fulfillment. However, EZ Exporter's setup complexity depends on the level of customization needed, but it might have a steeper learning curve.
