Facebook & Instagram vs Matrixifyfor Shopify (2026)
Facebook & Instagram is Meta's official app designed to integrate a Shopify store directly with Facebook and Instagram, focusing on sales channel management, advertising, and seamless in-app shopping experiences. It targets merchants aiming to leverage social media for growth, offering features like product syncing, ad creation, and shop insights. The app prioritizes ease of use with its one-time account connection and built-in support, making it ideal for merchants seeking a straightforward way to expand their reach on these platforms. However, its lower rating suggests potential areas for improvement in user experience. Matrixify, formerly Excelify, is a powerful data management tool for Shopify stores, specializing in bulk import, export, update, and migration of store data. It caters to a broad range of merchants, from small businesses to large enterprises, by handling large file sizes and supporting various data formats. Unlike Facebook & Instagram, Matrixify focuses on data control and flexibility, offering features like scheduled jobs, data backups, and migration from other e-commerce platforms. While it may require a steeper learning curve due to its complexity, its significantly higher rating indicates a high level of satisfaction among users who need robust data management capabilities.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on growing their sales through Facebook and Instagram and looking for a user-friendly, integrated solution, the Facebook & Instagram app is the better choice. Its simple setup and automatic product syncing streamline the process of selling on these platforms. However, the lower rating should be considered.
On the other hand, merchants who require extensive data management capabilities, need to migrate from another platform, or want to perform bulk updates to their store data should strongly consider Matrixify. Despite its potentially steeper learning curve, its high rating and robust features make it an invaluable tool for managing large and complex Shopify stores.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Facebook & Instagram is generally easier to set up due to its one-time account connection and streamlined integration with Meta's platforms. Matrixify requires more technical knowledge to configure data import/export jobs.
Which app is better for advertising?
Facebook & Instagram is specifically designed for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, offering tools to create and manage ads directly within the app. Matrixify does not directly provide advertising features.
Which app is better for migrating from another e-commerce platform?
Matrixify excels at migrating data from other e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce, Magento, and BigCommerce. Facebook & Instagram does not offer migration capabilities.
