Facebook New Customer Tracking vs Wixpa Google Ads Remarketingfor Shopify (2026)
Facebook New Customer Tracking and Wixpa Google Ads Remarketing serve fundamentally different purposes in the Shopify advertising ecosystem. Facebook New Customer Tracking focuses on optimizing Facebook Ads by sending a 'NewCustomerPurchase' event, aimed at acquiring new customers. It's positioned as an add-on to existing Facebook Ads setups, working in conjunction with the native Facebook Shopify app. The value proposition revolves around improved ad targeting for customer acquisition. Conversely, Wixpa Google Ads Remarketing simplifies the process of implementing Google Ads remarketing tags, especially dynamic remarketing, without requiring coding expertise. The core distinction lies in their platform focus (Facebook vs. Google Ads) and objective (new customer acquisition vs. retargeting). Facebook New Customer Tracking helps refine Facebook Ads campaigns by targeting new customer segments. Wixpa Google Ads Remarketing, on the other hand, streamlines the implementation of Google Ads remarketing, enabling merchants to re-engage with website visitors. Furthermore, Wixpa emphasizes ease of use, targeting merchants who may lack technical skills to manually install and maintain Google Ads tracking code.

Our Verdict
The choice between these apps hinges on the merchant's advertising strategy. If the primary goal is to acquire new customers through Facebook Ads and optimize ad spend based on new customer purchases, Facebook New Customer Tracking could be beneficial, assuming that the low ratings are not indicative of poor function. However, merchants should also consider if their Facebook ads are working and also use the native Facebook Pixel functionality. If the goal is to implement Google Ads remarketing quickly and easily, especially dynamic retargeting, without technical expertise, Wixpa Google Ads Remarketing is the superior choice.
Wixpa's high rating and emphasis on ease of use make it a compelling option for merchants new to Google Ads retargeting or those who lack the technical skills to implement it manually. Facebook New Customer Tracking is more of a niche tool for experienced Facebook advertisers seeking to refine their new customer acquisition strategies, but it comes with limited ratings data.
