Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with visual enhancements and conversion rate optimization without needing to write code, Factory: Theme Section Store is the better choice. Its pre-built sections and utilities offer a quick and easy way to improve the storefront's appearance and functionality. However, if the merchant's primary goal is to implement custom scripts, tracking pixels, or advanced styling requiring code, then XO Insert Code is the more suitable option, despite the requirement of technical skills and the lower level of social proof in the form of number of reviews (though higher average rating). XO Insert Code offers unparalleled control over code implementation, enabling sophisticated integrations and customizations.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical user?
Factory: Theme Section Store is significantly easier for non-technical users, as it requires no coding knowledge. XO Insert Code necessitates familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript, or other relevant coding languages.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, theoretically you can, but their purposes are quite different. You might use Factory to visually enhance the storefront and then use XO Insert Code to add custom tracking scripts, for example. However, ensure compatibility and avoid code conflicts.
Which app is better for adding a Facebook Pixel?
XO Insert Code is the direct solution for adding a Facebook Pixel, as it allows inserting the necessary script into the store's code. Factory offers pre-built sections for appearance, which may not include direct Facebook pixel integration.
If I want to add a custom 'Coming Soon' banner, which app is better?
Either could be used. Factory likely offers a pre-built hero section suitable for a 'Coming Soon' banner, making it easier and faster. XO Insert Code could be used to insert custom HTML and CSS code for a banner, offering more control but requiring more technical effort.
Which app offers more long-term customization potential?
XO Insert Code provides more long-term customization potential, as it allows virtually any code to be inserted. This flexibility enables ongoing modifications and adjustments as the merchant's needs evolve. Factory's customization is limited to its pre-built sections.
