Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a complete abandoned cart recovery and marketing automation solution that includes SMS, email, and push notifications, Fastr: SMS & Email Marketing is likely the better choice. Its 'no code' claim and 'easier than Klaviyo' positioning suggest a focus on user-friendliness. However, merchants already heavily invested in a specific SMS marketing platform like Klaviyo or Postscript and primarily looking to expand their SMS list through Instagram should opt for HiTide: Grow your SMS List. The higher rating, although based on fewer reviews, combined with its dedicated integration and targeted Instagram DM approach makes it a more suitable option for list growth.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Fastr explicitly claims to be easier than Klaviyo and Mailchimp and states a simple set-up can be completed in minutes. HiTide focuses on seamless integration with existing platforms but doesn't directly address ease of initial setup. Fastr likely has a simpler initial configuration process if the claims are accurate.
Which app is better for general marketing automation?
Fastr offers a broader range of marketing automation features, including email flows, push notifications, and popups, making it suitable for general marketing automation needs. HiTide is highly focused on SMS list growth only.
Which app is better for merchants already using Klaviyo for SMS marketing?
HiTide is specifically designed to integrate with platforms like Klaviyo, offering a focused solution for growing SMS lists via Instagram to feed into Klaviyo. Fastr's description positions it as an alternative to Klaviyo, suggesting it may not integrate as seamlessly.
Does either app offer phone support?
Neither app's description mentions phone support. Additional research, outside of this data, would be required to answer that question.
Which app is better for new Shopify store owners without existing marketing tools?
Fastr is likely the better choice for new Shopify store owners. Its all-in-one approach to abandoned cart recovery, combined with its claims of ease of use, provides a comprehensive solution for new merchants without requiring prior experience with specific marketing platforms.
