Flair Product Badges + Labels vs MX: Background Music Playerfor Shopify (2026)
Flair Product Badges + Labels and MX: Background Music Player are both Shopify apps categorized as "Design elements," but they address completely different aspects of store design and target distinct merchant needs. Flair Product Badges + Labels likely focuses on visual merchandising by allowing merchants to highlight product attributes, promotions, or special offers with badges and labels. This appeals to merchants looking to improve product visibility and drive sales through visual cues. It's indicated by its 5/5 rating from 227 reviews, it is likely a solid and reliable choice. MX: Background Music Player, on the other hand, focuses on the auditory experience of online shopping. It enables merchants to set a mood by playing music in the background, potentially increasing engagement and creating a more immersive shopping environment. Its support for various music sources (Tidal, Spotify, YouTube, etc.) and customization options make it attractive for merchants who want to curate a specific brand atmosphere. However, the lower rating (4.8/5) and significantly fewer reviews (18) suggest it may have fewer users or potentially some unresolved issues. The fact that it is recommended around specific holidays could mean its appeal is somewhat narrow.

Given its user ratings it is likely easy to use and provides great value.
However, if creating an engaging and atmospheric shopping experience is the priority, MX: Background Music Player could be a worthwhile experiment, especially for seasonal promotions. Merchants should carefully consider the potential impact of background music on their target audience and brand identity. It's worth noting the disparity in reviews indicates MX: Background Music Player is likely less popular or has a newer user base, so try a demo store.
