Floatify: Social & CTA Buttons vs Year Make Model ‑ EasySearchfor Shopify (2026)
Floatify: Social & CTA Buttons and Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch are both Shopify apps aiming to improve the customer experience, but they target completely different needs. Floatify focuses on enhancing engagement and direct contact with customers through readily accessible call-to-action buttons and social media integrations. It positions itself as a tool to boost sales by providing convenient communication channels like WhatsApp live chat and easily customizable buttons for various actions. Year Make Model ‑ EasySearch, on the other hand, is designed for merchants selling products with specific fitment requirements, particularly in the automotive sector. It facilitates the search process by enabling customers to filter products based on year, make, and model, ensuring compatibility and reducing returns. While both apps fall under the "Search and Navigation" category, their implementations are distinct. Floatify enhances navigation by making key actions readily available, while Year Make Model improves the search function by adding advanced filtering capabilities. The success of each app is dependent on the type of products sold. Floatify is suitable for stores selling any product and focusing on engagement, while Year Make Model is targeted at stores selling auto parts or similarly complex items needing fitment validation. The higher number of reviews for Year Make Model may suggest either greater market demand or the app being longer available or having a bigger installed user base.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Floatify and Year Make Model depends heavily on your store's product offerings. If you're selling general merchandise and want to improve customer engagement by offering easy access to communication channels like WhatsApp and phone calls, Floatify is the better option. Its focus on social buttons and CTAs is designed to drive sales through convenience and direct interaction.
However, if you specialize in products that require specific fitment, such as auto parts or accessories, Year Make Model is the clear winner. Its YMM search functionality, fitment widget, and 'My Garage' feature are invaluable for ensuring customers find the right parts for their vehicle, reducing returns, and improving customer satisfaction. While Floatify might not be particularly useful in such a scenario, Year Make Model provides essential functionality.

It's difficult to definitively say. Floatify's communication features *could* lead to upselling and AOV increases by addressing customer queries and providing personalized recommendations.
