Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on refining their promotional strategies and mitigating the negative impact of blanket discounts, Fondue CashBack Promotions appears to be the stronger choice. Its flexibility in cashback redemption options and targeting capabilities provides a nuanced approach to incentives. However, merchants seeking a comprehensive solution for managing and enhancing their gift card offerings, particularly those who value aesthetically pleasing designs and automated workflows, should strongly consider Gift Cards Suite + AI.
While Gift Cards Suite + AI boasts a perfect rating, the extremely low review count (2) should be factored into the decision. Fondue Cashback Promotions, with significantly more reviews (36), provides a more reliable indication of user experience, even with a slightly lower rating. Therefore, unless design and streamlined gift card management are absolutely paramount, Fondue is likely the more battle-tested and versatile solution for most merchants in 2026.
Common Questions
Which app is better for reducing discount costs?
Fondue CashBack Promotions is designed specifically to reduce discount costs by offering post-purchase cashback instead of upfront discounts. This allows merchants to recapture revenue from customers who don't need the discount and encourage repeat purchases.
Does either app offer A/B testing capabilities?
Fondue CashBack Promotions offers URL-based cashback, which can be used in conjunction with A/B testing tools to segment customers and test different promotional offers. Gift Cards Suite + AI does not explicitly mention A/B testing.
Which app is easier to use?
Gift Cards Suite + AI emphasizes user-friendly design and automated workflows for gift card management, suggesting a simpler learning curve for gift card-specific tasks. Fondue, however, may be slightly more complex to initially set up due to its flexible cashback rules and segmentation options.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, they can be used together. Fondue can be used to offer cashback promotions, and one redemption option for that cashback can be a gift card that is then managed by Gift Cards Suite + AI.
Does Fondue offer gift cards directly, or does it integrate with a separate gift card platform?
Fondue allows shoppers to redeem their cashback for gift cards, but it doesn't appear to manage the gift card creation or full lifecycle. Merchants likely need a separate gift card app to handle the actual gift card fulfillment process if customers choose that redemption option. Gift Cards Suite + AI streamlines this aspect directly.
