Frykland ‑ Price History vs Quick Quotefor Shopify (2026)
Frykland ‑ Price History and Quick Quote, while both listed in the "Pricing" category on Shopify, address fundamentally different merchant needs. Frykland ‑ Price History is designed to assist merchants in complying with the EU Price Indication Directive by displaying the lowest price of a product in the 30 days preceding a sale. This primarily caters to merchants selling to customers within the EU and prioritizing transparency and regulatory adherence. Quick Quote, on the other hand, is a tool that allows customers to request custom quotes directly through the shopping cart. It streamlines the negotiation process, enabling merchants to offer tailored pricing and discounts. The primary distinction lies in their core functionality. Frykland automates price history display for compliance and transparency, requiring minimal active involvement from the merchant once set up. Quick Quote introduces a dynamic element to the customer journey, enabling custom pricing and direct communication regarding order value. It targets businesses dealing with bespoke orders, large quantities, or customers seeking special deals. While both can impact sales indirectly, Frykland is reactive (preventing compliance issues) while Quick Quote is proactive (seeking to capture more sales through negotiation).

Our Verdict
The ideal choice depends heavily on the merchant's specific needs and target market. Frykland ‑ Price History is a must-have for merchants operating within the EU or prioritizing transparent pricing practices, as it automates compliance with the Price Indication Directive. While the review count is low, the perfect rating suggests it effectively delivers on its promise. Quick Quote is a more versatile tool, beneficial for merchants who offer variable pricing, handle bulk orders, or cater to customers seeking personalized deals. The significantly higher review count suggests broader adoption and potentially greater reliability or robustness, despite also having a perfect rating. A merchant might even use both apps: Frykland to be compliant, and Quick Quote to acquire leads.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Frykland is likely easier to set up initially, as it mainly involves connecting to your theme and configuring pricing history display based on EU regulations. Quick Quote requires more configuration to set up email notifications, track quote status, and potentially customize the quote submission process.
Which app requires more ongoing management?
Quick Quote demands more ongoing management. Merchants need to actively respond to quote requests, negotiate prices, and manage the quote status within the app. Frykland, once set up, primarily operates automatically, requiring less continuous involvement.
Which app is better for a small business?
It depends on the business model. A small business selling standard products within the EU benefits from Frykland for compliance. A small business offering custom services or bulk discounts would find Quick Quote more valuable for managing pricing and customer interactions.
Which app better builds customer trust?
Frykland builds trust by demonstrating transparent pricing practices and compliance with regulations. Quick Quote builds trust by offering personalized service and the opportunity to negotiate prices.
If I only sell in the US, which app is more useful?
If you only sell in the US, Frykland ‑ Price History is likely not necessary. Quick Quote would be the more useful app as it allows customers to request quotes, opening the door to custom pricing and potentially increasing sales.
