Our Verdict
Giftnote is ideal for merchants who want to actively cultivate a gifting strategy, particularly targeting corporate gifting and leveraging branded gift messages and custom eGift cards. Its extensive integrations suggest a more comprehensive platform suited for larger merchants with complex fulfillment needs. Insertr, on the other hand, caters to merchants seeking to optimize their marketing efforts through targeted physical inserts within existing orders. Its simplicity and compatibility with any 3PL or WMS make it a good fit for businesses of various sizes looking for a straightforward way to track and improve the ROI of their physical marketing materials. If your goal is to increase gifting sales, choose Giftnote. If your goal is to increase marketing performance via physical inserts, choose Insertr.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Insertr likely has a simpler setup initially since it doesn't require any integrations with 3PL or WMS and only uses data already available in Shopify. Giftnote setup might be more complex given its numerous integrations with shipping, marketing, and customer service platforms. However, Giftnote claims to offer support to go live quickly.
Which app is more suitable for a small business?
Insertr might be a more accessible entry point for small businesses because it works with any 3PL without direct integration, meaning small businesses can leverage existing warehouse infrastructure without extra implementation. Giftnote offers more extensive features that might overwhelm smaller businesses with smaller gifting volumes, but if those features align to a small businesses focus, it could work.
Which app is best for larger Shopify Plus stores?
Giftnote is better suited for larger Shopify Plus stores due to its Shopify native eGift card functionality and integrations with various platforms. Plus stores usually need robust integration for automations.
Does Giftnote also track ROI?
Giftnote tracks ROI via its ability to convert recipients into customers and automate gifting, however, it doesn't provide metrics directly on customer conversions driven by gifting. Insertr is much more straightforward in tracking physical inserts ROI and conversions via built-in tracking.
How can I use both apps effectively?
A merchant can use both by utilizing Insertr to include a physical promotional card or discount offer for future gift purchases powered by Giftnote. The two apps can work together to create a holistic marketing strategy focused on both customer acquisition and revenue increase through gifting.
