Giftship: Gift Options & More vs Selling Pointfor Shopify (2026)
Giftship: Gift Options & More and Selling Point, while both categorized under 'Gifts' on Shopify, address fundamentally different needs of merchants. Giftship positions itself as a comprehensive gifting experience enhancer for online stores. Its strength lies in providing a wide array of customizable 'functionality blocks' for product, cart, and checkout pages, along with advanced features like multiple address shipping and a box builder. This caters to merchants seeking to elevate the entire gifting process on their storefront and increase revenue through upsells and improved user experience. Selling Point, in contrast, focuses exclusively on the challenge of migrating and managing gift cards and store credits during platform transitions or consolidations. Its core strength is simplifying the often complex process of importing and converting gift card data from various POS systems or websites into Shopify's native format. Selling Point primarily serves merchants who are migrating to Shopify from other platforms or those who have existing offline gift card programs they wish to digitize and integrate into their Shopify store. The value proposition is centered around saving time and development costs associated with manual gift card migration or custom app development. Giftship, on the other hand, is for merchants already on Shopify who want to enhance the gifting options available to their customers, driving sales and improving the overall customer experience. The choice between the two apps depends heavily on the specific needs of the merchant, with Giftship offering broad functionality for improving gifting and Selling Point offering a niche solution for gift card management.

Our Verdict
For merchants already on Shopify looking to improve their online gifting capabilities and increase revenue, Giftship is the superior choice. Its wide range of features, from product options to multiple address shipping, allows for a highly customizable and enhanced customer experience. However, for merchants who are in the process of migrating to Shopify from another platform, or those who have a large number of existing gift cards from offline stores or other systems, Selling Point is the clear winner. Its focus on simplifying the gift card migration process can save significant time and resources, making the transition to Shopify smoother.
Ultimately, the 'better' app depends entirely on the merchant's specific needs. If the goal is to enhance gifting, choose Giftship. If the goal is to manage and migrate gift cards, choose Selling Point.
